1. The Chair welcomes you to attend this meeting.
2. The Chair welcomes you to this meeting.
3. The Chair welcomes you for attending this meeting.
文法上三句都對(duì)。雖然第三句是有點(diǎn)不自然,但不算錯(cuò)。
Welcome 一字后面可以加 to + infinitive,也可以加 to + noun。桌上放滿食物,主人家對(duì)客人說(shuō) "You are welcomed to help yourself" 或 "You are welcomed to the food"(較常見(jiàn)的說(shuō)法是 "You are welcome to help yourself")。Leo 提出的第一句和第二句的分別就是在此。
至于第三句的 for 是說(shuō)明理由。主席歡迎大家是因?yàn)榇蠹襾?lái)參加會(huì)議。意思沒(méi)有大的問(wèn)題,只不過(guò)聽(tīng)起來(lái)好像暗示,你如果不是為了參加會(huì)議而來(lái),主席就不歡迎你一樣,這樣未免有點(diǎn)功利。我們換一個(gè)說(shuō)法,聽(tīng)起來(lái)就自然多了:
The Chair wants to thank you for attending this meeting.
