If you describe someone as narrow-minded,you are criticizing them because they are unwilling to consider new ideas orother people's opinions.
對(duì)于心眼很小、看不開(kāi)的人你就可以說(shuō)他是narrow-minded.例如有人總是見(jiàn)不得別人好，你就可以說(shuō)：You are narrow-minded.
相對(duì)于narrow-minded 的就是open-minded，形容心胸寬大，凡事都很看得開(kāi)，也可以指一個(gè)人沒(méi)有先入為主的觀念,能夠接受別人的意見(jiàn)。
記得有一次考試時(shí)教授就對(duì)我們說(shuō)：You have to be open-minded. 就是說(shuō)“你們不要有先入為主的觀念，不要太去鉆牛角尖（splitting hairs），這樣才能考得好”。
