讀者 Tiny 來電郵問：in front of 和 in the front of 有什么分別？
In front of 是說一件對象的位置在另一件的前面，例如：
The cat is lying in front of the dog.（小貓在小狗的前面躺著。）
In the front of 是說一件物件在另一件的前頭部分。譬如說：工人來修理家里的電燈，問：
Where is the main switch?（電路的總開關在哪里？）
主人回答：In the front of the house.（在屋子的前頭。）
要注意：在對象的前頭部分是 in the front of，在后頭的部分是 in the back of。香港的豪宅，傭人房大多接近后門，我們可以說：
The maid's room is in the back of the house.
In the back of 千萬別說成 in the behind of，否則會鬧笑話，因為俚語的 behind 有別的意思，指人的屁股。
