It’s no surprise that we love The Originals. The Vampire Diaries spin-off has taken the Mikaelsons — Klaus (Joseph Morgan)， Elijah (Daniel Gillies)， and Rebekah (Claire Holt) — and made them leading guys and gals. Sure, they were fabulous on TVD, but now we can see them in a new light and learn more about their characters. Turns out, not only are the ratings for the series continually on the rise, but their fans are very loyal and engaged.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Originals is the No. 1 most popular new show on social media this fall, beating out 26 other freshman series for the title. The New Orleans-based drama has more than 1.9 million fans when combining Twitter followers and Facebook likes, putting it well above the runner-up, FOX’s Sleepy Hollow, with 821 thousand combined fans.

Rounding out the Top 5 are ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (801 thousand fans)， NBC’s Dracula (425 thousand fans)， and NBC’s The Blacklist (363 thousand fans)。

劇情介紹：

A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world's original vampires: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). It was revealed during the backdoor pilot, aired on April 25, 2013, that recurring werewolf character Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with Klaus' child. Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans. But the Mikaelson siblings were forced to flee the city after being chased down by their father Mikael, while it was being constructed and Marcel took charge. Upon their return, Klaus has but one burning desire: to take down Marcel and reclaim New Orleans for himself.
