學(xué)校簡(jiǎn)介
云南師范大學(xué)是一所歷史悠久、傳統(tǒng)優(yōu)良的省屬重點(diǎn)師范大學(xué),是云南省人民政府和教育部共建高校、國(guó)家中西部基礎(chǔ)能力提升工程重點(diǎn)建設(shè)的100所高校之一。
1937年抗戰(zhàn)爆發(fā)后,北京大學(xué)、清華大學(xué)、南開大學(xué)遷至昆明合組國(guó)立西南聯(lián)合大學(xué),下設(shè)文學(xué)院、理學(xué)院、工學(xué)院、法商學(xué)院、師范學(xué)院。1946年抗戰(zhàn)勝利后,組成聯(lián)大的三校復(fù)員北返,師范學(xué)院整建制留昆獨(dú)立設(shè)置,定名國(guó)立昆明師范學(xué)院,1950年改名昆明師范學(xué)院,1984年更名為云南師范大學(xué)。建校75年來(lái),已為國(guó)家培養(yǎng)各級(jí)各類人才20余萬(wàn)人,被譽(yù)為“紅土高原上的教師搖籃”。
學(xué)校占地面積3330畝,下設(shè)24個(gè)學(xué)院,2個(gè)獨(dú)立學(xué)院,40余個(gè)科研機(jī)構(gòu)。有全日制博士、碩士研究生和本科生20000余人,成人繼續(xù)教育學(xué)生18000余人,圖書資料320余萬(wàn)冊(cè),是中國(guó)高等教育文獻(xiàn)保障系統(tǒng)云南文獻(xiàn)信息服務(wù)中心建設(shè)單位,建有“萬(wàn)兆主干”的新一代“數(shù)字校園”?!对颇蠋煼洞髮W(xué)學(xué)報(bào)(哲社版)》進(jìn)入全國(guó)高校文科學(xué)報(bào)30強(qiáng)之列,為CSSCI來(lái)源期刊、中文核心期刊;《云南師范大學(xué)學(xué)報(bào)(自然科學(xué)版)》綜合影響因子進(jìn)入全國(guó)同類期刊前40位,為中國(guó)科技核心期刊;在全國(guó)大學(xué)學(xué)報(bào)中首創(chuàng)《云南師范大學(xué)學(xué)報(bào)•對(duì)外漢語(yǔ)教學(xué)與研究版》,綜合影響因子在全國(guó)同類期刊中排名30位。
學(xué)校有文、史、哲、法、教、管、理、工、經(jīng)濟(jì)、藝術(shù)10大學(xué)科門類,形成多學(xué)科協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展的學(xué)科與專業(yè)格局,在教育部學(xué)科評(píng)估中有20個(gè)學(xué)科排名全國(guó)高校前20位,3個(gè)學(xué)科排名前10位?,F(xiàn)有87個(gè)本科專業(yè),2個(gè)博士后流動(dòng)站,1個(gè)一級(jí)學(xué)科博士點(diǎn),7個(gè)二級(jí)學(xué)科博士點(diǎn),26個(gè)一級(jí)學(xué)科碩士點(diǎn),130個(gè)二級(jí)學(xué)科碩士點(diǎn),有教育碩士、工商管理碩士(MBA)等13個(gè)專業(yè)碩士學(xué)位授權(quán)點(diǎn),是全國(guó)首批招收和培養(yǎng)漢語(yǔ)國(guó)際教育碩士專業(yè)學(xué)位研究生的24所試點(diǎn)高校之一。

學(xué)校建有國(guó)家太陽(yáng)能熱水器質(zhì)檢中心、中英太陽(yáng)能研發(fā)中心、中國(guó)——老撾可再生能源聯(lián)合實(shí)驗(yàn)室、教育部重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室、教育部工程研究中心、教育部創(chuàng)新團(tuán)隊(duì)、教育部應(yīng)用創(chuàng)新開放平臺(tái)示范基地、國(guó)家專業(yè)技術(shù)人員繼續(xù)教育基地、國(guó)家體育總局體育文化研究基地、云南省院士(專家)工作站——吉亨•阿瑪拉通加院士工作站、中國(guó)西南對(duì)外開放與邊疆安全研究中心、漢藏語(yǔ)研究院、云南研究院、云南華文學(xué)院、卜勵(lì)德美國(guó)研究中心、朗寧加拿大研究中心和“中國(guó)•昆明泛亞人才教育與發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略研究中心”等一批國(guó)家級(jí)、省部級(jí)科研平臺(tái)及基地。近五年來(lái)承擔(dān)了國(guó)家社科基金重大招標(biāo)項(xiàng)目、國(guó)家“973”、“863”項(xiàng)目、科技部“科技惠民”計(jì)劃項(xiàng)目等重大科研項(xiàng)目100余項(xiàng),科研經(jīng)費(fèi)超過5.2億。
學(xué)校現(xiàn)有教職工2300余人,其中有國(guó)家突出貢獻(xiàn)專家、國(guó)務(wù)院特殊津貼獲得者、國(guó)家“百千萬(wàn)人才工程”、中國(guó)科學(xué)院“百人計(jì)劃”、教育部高校青年教師獎(jiǎng)、教育部“新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才支持計(jì)劃”入選者、云南省高端科技人才等一批專家學(xué)者。諾貝爾獎(jiǎng)獲得者楊振寧,中科院院士楊樂、郭柏靈、戴汝為,英國(guó)皇家工程院院士、劍橋大學(xué)教授阿馬拉通加,2010年諾貝爾經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)獎(jiǎng)得主、英國(guó)社會(huì)科學(xué)院院士皮薩里德斯,美國(guó)《紐約時(shí)報(bào)》前總編、普利策獎(jiǎng)評(píng)審委員會(huì)前任主席西默•托平,世界著名未來(lái)學(xué)家約翰•奈斯比特博士等40余個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)的近100位知名專家被聘為學(xué)校名譽(yù)教授、客座教授或兼職教授。
學(xué)校是一所開放的、有著國(guó)際化視野的現(xiàn)代大學(xué),先后被教育部和國(guó)家漢辦確定為支持周邊國(guó)家漢語(yǔ)教學(xué)的10所重點(diǎn)大學(xué)之一、國(guó)務(wù)院僑辦華文教育基地、國(guó)家漢語(yǔ)國(guó)際推廣師資培訓(xùn)基地、中國(guó)對(duì)東南亞國(guó)家進(jìn)行漢語(yǔ)師資培訓(xùn)的基地、國(guó)家首批赴海外承辦孔子學(xué)院的大學(xué)、享受中國(guó)政府獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金和孔子學(xué)院獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金留學(xué)生接收院校、全國(guó)首批來(lái)華留學(xué)示范基地、教育部出國(guó)留學(xué)培訓(xùn)與研究中心、國(guó)家HSK考試和漢語(yǔ)作為第二外語(yǔ)教學(xué)能力資格考點(diǎn)、聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織在中國(guó)西南地區(qū)的中學(xué)英語(yǔ)師資培訓(xùn)基地和云南省目前具有對(duì)港澳臺(tái)招生權(quán)的兩所高校之一。學(xué)校在國(guó)外建立了1所孔子學(xué)院、3個(gè)孔子課堂、5個(gè)中國(guó)語(yǔ)言文化中心,與英國(guó)、美國(guó)、加拿大、澳大利亞、新西蘭以及港澳臺(tái)等60多個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)的150余所國(guó)外大學(xué)和科研機(jī)構(gòu)進(jìn)行合作交流,招收62個(gè)國(guó)家的留學(xué)生13000余人次。目前有各類留學(xué)生1705人,是云南省在校留學(xué)生人數(shù)最多的高校。

About Yunnan Normal University
Yunnan Normal University (henceforth YNNU) is a key university of Yunnan Province, with a long history and a great tradition. It is a higher institution co-funded by the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Government of Yunnan and one of the one hundred universities funded by the National Key Project for the Quality Enhancement of the Higher Institutions in Central and West China.
After the Anti-Japanese War broke out in 1937, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University moved to Kunming and merged into the National Southwest Associated University, which consisted of School of Humanities, School of Science, School of Engineering, School of Business and Law, and the Teachers College. Following the end of the War, the three component universities moved back to their original sites in the north, but the Teachers College, renamed National Kunming Teachers College, stayed behind to become an independent institution. In 1950, the word “National” was dropped from its name. A few decades later, in 1984, it acquired its present name, Yunnan Normal University. In the past 75 years, YNNU has graduated more than 200,000 students for the country and is thus known as the “Cradle of Teachers on the Red-soil Plateau”.
YNNU covers a total area of thirty-three hundred and thirty mu (about five hundred and forty-three acres). It consists of twenty-six schools and more than forty research centers and institutes. It has over thirty thousand full-time students pursuing different degrees and more than eighteen thousand students of continuing education. As the Provincial Center of the Data Resources of Chinese Higher Education, YNNU’s library houses more than 3.2 million books with a new-generation digitalized service system. The Journal of Yunnan Normal University (Social Science Edition), included in the highly selective CSSCI (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index) list, ranks among the top thirty of its kind, while the Natural Science Edition is a nationally acclaimed core journal, its impact factor ranking among the top forty natural science journals in China. In addition, the Teaching and Research on Chinese as a Foreign Language Edition, the pioneer in this field, ranks among the top thirty journals of its kind in China in terms of impact factor.
YNNU offers ten disciplines: literature, history, philosophy, law, education, management, science, engineering, economics, and arts, which are well coordinated in their development. In a recent assessment conducted by the Ministry of Education, twenty of YNNU’s sub-disciplines are ranked among the top twenty in the whole country while three of them are among the top ten. YNNU offers eighty-six bachelor’s programs, one postdoctoral research program, one doctoral program in a first-class discipline, seven doctoral programs in second-class disciplines, twenty-six master’s programs in first-class disciplines, one hundred and thirty master’s programs in second-class disciplines, and ten professional master’s programs, such as MBA and M.Ed. It is one of the first twenty-four universities in China that offer the Master’s Program for Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.
Through innovations and reforms in contents, teaching methodology, curricula and talent training models, YNNU has accomplished the transformation from a traditional teacher-training university to a teaching-research modern university, with teacher education as its typical trait. It has a number of state-level teaching teams, innovative training programs, special majors, brilliant teachers, excellent courses and experimental teaching bases that rank among the best in China in their respective fields. It has won several national excellent teaching awards. It is carrying out state-funded projects in such areas as reforms in education system, bilingual teaching and teaching innovation and faculty development. It has sixty state-level Quality Projects under construction. It is one of the three universities of its kind in China that offer free teacher-training programs and one of the national college-student innovation training bases. YNNU’s Teaching Affairs Department, the Enrollment & Employment Department and the Adult Education Department have won state-level honors for their respective contribution. Its undergraduate teaching is rated “Excellence” in the teaching-quality assessment conducted by the Ministry of Education.
The university has quite a few research centers or institutes at the national, ministerial or provincial levels, including the National Solar-heater Quality Testing Center, the Sino-British Solar-energy Research and Development Center, the Sino-Laos Joint Lab for Recyclable Energy Resources, the Ministry of Education’s Key Lab, Engineering Research Center, Innovative Team, Technological Application and Innovation Demonstration Base, State-level Professional Talent Continuing Education Base, Research Center of Sports Culture Sponsored by the General Administration of Sport of China, Yunnan Province’s Academician Work Center—Academician Gehan Amaratunga’s Work Center, Research Center for the Opening of Southwest China and Frontier Security, Research Institute of Sino-Tibetan Languages, Institute of Studies of Yunnan, Yunnan College of Chinese Language and Culture, Platt American Studies Center, Ronning Canadian Studies Center, Kunming Strategy Research Institute for Pan-Asian Talent Training and Development, and so on. In the past five years, YNNU has taken on over one hundred prestigious key research projects like the National Social Science Foundation Major Project, the National Natural Science Foundation Major Project, “973” Project, “863” Project, and research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology. YNNU’s research funds total over 520 million Yuan (RMB).
YNNU has a staff of over two thousand and two hundred people. Many of the faculty are experts with honors awarded by the Central Government, the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Education or Yunnan Provincial Government. In addition, it has invited about one hundred well-known experts from forty countries and regions all over the world as its Honorary Professors, Guest Professors or Adjunct Professors, including Professor Chen-Ning Franklin Yang, a Nobel Prize winner, Professor Yang Le, Professor Guo Bailing and Professor Dai Ruwei who are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Gehan Amaratunga from Cambridge University, an academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K., Professor Seymour Topping, former Administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes, managing editor for the New York Times and president of the American Society of Newspaper Editors, and Dr. John Naisbitt, a well-known futurist.
YNNU boasts of its international vision and modern ideas. It is one of the ten universities selected by the Ministry of Education and the Office of Chinese Language Council to support Chinese Teaching in neighboring countries. It has a Chinese Teaching Base sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, a Teacher-training Base for International Promotion of TCF sponsored by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters, a HSK test center, a CFL test center, and a Training and Research Center for Overseas Studies sponsored by the Ministry of Education. It has a TCFL Teacher-training Base for Southeast Asian countries. It is one of the first Chinese universities selected by the Chinese Government to establish Confucius Institute abroad and provide Government Scholarship and Confucius Institute Scholarship to international students. Up to now, it has established one Confucius Institute, three Confucius Classrooms and five Chinese culture centers abroad. It has cooperation with one hundred and fifty universities and research institutes in Great Britain, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan of China. It has trained thirteen thousand international students from sixty-two countries. It has a training base for middle-school English teachers in southwest China sponsored by UNESCO and is one of the two universities in Yunnan Province that are authorized to enroll students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan of China. YNNU now has one thousand seven hundred and five international students from all over the world, the largest number in all the higher institutions of Yunnan.
YNNU has won honors for its contribution to our national unity, educational development, cultural construction, moral education and legal construction from the State Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Education and the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and from the provincial government and the local governments at different levels. Many of its students have won honors from governments and institutions at different levels for their scientific and technological innovation, achievements in moral education and praiseworthy actions for helping other people and other prestigious awards as well. Some students are medal winners in the Olympic Games or the Paralympic Games in Beijing, Athens or London.
In the new stage of development, YNNU will do its best to implement its strategy of “integrating our strengths with typical and local features” and develop a campus culture of “inclusiveness, harmony and politeness”, so as to become one of the best teaching-research normal universities in China and a high-quality university in Central and West China.
